The Blinders are an absolutely brilliant and extremely promising new band signed to Modern Sky Records and I've absolutely fallen in love with them over the last few months.
The Blinders tend to create fast paced, powerful punky riffs with anthemic lyrics that resonate with a large amount of young people today about feelings of being observed, alienated and controlled whilst also taking heavy influence from Dystopian literature by greats such as Orwell and Huxley (which as an English student I can very much appreciate) which is clear in songs such us 'Brave New World' 'Swine' and 'L’etat c’est moi'.
Their sound is highly original and frustratingly hard to describe although they do remind me slightly of the early Arctic Monkey's and Slaves.
The Blinders will be releasing their debut album Columbia on the 21st September 2018 and it's available for pre-order now so be sure to join the Blinders on what should be a big year for this highly underrated band. The band will also be touring to celebrate the release of the album in a large number of UK towns and cities so be sure to support them at a show near you!
